When we fell over in the 50s and 60s, when we banged into
walls, fences or lampposts, when we tripped over kerbs or paving stones, we
blamed ourselves. When the branch from which we were swinging broke and we got
big lumps on our heads, we blamed ourselves. We did not first look for others
to blame, we usually accepted that it was our fault caused by our inattention
or stupidity. We took responsibility for our actions. Do the children and people of today do the same?
Those of us who remember how things were 50 years or more ago should take the time to make their memories available to younger people. A world without the internet, without on screen games and where direct face to face conversation substituted for texts, emails and so called social media - was it better? Was it worse? Whichever, it was certainly different. PLEASE do add comments - thank you. Search this blog using the search box at the bottom or choose a topic from the labels on the right.

But if there's nobody to blame then how can you claim compensation?!
Got it in one!
