Stockings, suspenders and tights

Not sure when nylon tights first became available in UK but I don’t think they were generally seen until a few years into the 60s. Before that, there were stockings and these had to be held up with suspenders – there were none of the modern hold up stockings. What did this mean for a male? Simply that there was the possibility of a glimpse of bare flesh above the top of the stocking and it was probably this which helped implant into the minds of many men the thoughts that stockings with suspenders were sexy.
