Vending machines

Vending machines used to be found in convenient locations on the streets accessible at any time of day; I expect some got robbed or vandalised but I never saw one where that had happened. Chocolate, sweets, stamps and cigarettes used to be conveniently available. They could be found on walls or special posts outside shops, near bus stops, outside petrol station – all available whether or not the premises were open. Tends to argue that there was less crime and more respect for property in the 50s.
